Family Practice/Internist Opportunity

Outstanding opportunity for Family Practice or Internist Physician in Community Health Center in Marshalltown, Iowa.  Physician will provide direct primary patient care to patients in compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations to meet or exceed the generally accepted standards of medical care. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Clinical teaching experience and/ previous practice experience.
2. Interest in the delivery and teaching of all aspects of primary care.
3. Experience in a community health center.
4. Bilingual in English and Spanish languages.

Benefits: 
Insurance - medical, vision, dental, life, dependent life, short term and long term disability, retirement plan, 25 days of PTO per year, seven holidays, Malpractice insurance covered under FTCA, relocation allowance.
Prefer one year contract duration.
CME 40 hours per year, $2250 per fiscal year
Salary Range: $127,500 - $140,000

Center Description and Scope of Services:
17 exam rooms (soon to be expanded)

Scope: Primary medical care services including general medical care, family planning, diagnostic laboratory and limited diagnostic radiology, HIV testing and counseling, testing for blood levels, and immunizations.  Obstetrical and Gynecological Care , which includes gynecological care, prenatal care, antepartum fetal assessment, and postpartum care.    Dental Care services include preventive, restorative, emergency and rehabilitative care.  Pharmacy Services are offered at the Community Access Pharmacy in Des Moines and through a contracted pharmacy in Marshalltown.   Occupational, vocational, physical therapy, optometry and podiatry are offered by referral.  Nutrition and ophthalmology specialty services are offered via contracted providers.  Supportive Services including interpretation/translation services, transportation assistance, and environmental health risk reduction, health education, and nursing home and assisted-living referrals, are available at all locations.  Mental Health/Substance Services are offered. 

Current Provider Staff: 1 FTE Family Practice Physician, 0.2 FTE Pediatrician, 4.7 FTE Mid Level  Providers (Family Practice, Pediatrics, & OB/GYN), Behavioral Health Services provided through contracted providers

Other  Staff: 9.75 Nursing/Medical Assistants, 5.6 Office Support Staff, 6.0 FTE Interpreters

May follow patients to acute care facilities - Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center.
